Valentine's Day Blog Hop

Welcome to our 2014 Valentine's Day Blog Hop!  You should have reached here from Hrvatica  - Croation Crafter  If you are just joining us, please start at RockinRenee's blog.  There are so many great projects and I don't want you to miss a single one!  Today we are highlighting Valentine's Day inspired projects.

I'm so excited I have FOUR projects to share.  The first is treat bags for my grandson and is something I totally scraplifted from  http://jeanscraftycorner.blogspot.com/2011/02/cwc-sweet-shop-blog-hop-day-1-you-make.html .  I mean almost TOTALLY.  I did the heart from Sweethearts and the eyes from Graphically Speaking like she did, but I did do a different mouth.  And instead of using staples, I used Scor-tape to attach the sixlets to the hearts and to attach the hearts together.  I stamped the back with a Paper Trey Ink Stamp from the Spring Friendship jar set saying "Be My Valentine" and a "From" stamp from a set by Stephanie Barnard at Stamps4Life.  My grandson LOVED these and is so excited about giving them to his school friends.  I was working on these at my favorite scrapbook store (PS Scrapbooks in Allen, Tx) when one of the owners saw them.  She took pictures, sent to friends and the next week several other ladies at the store were making them, too.  I think this project caused a run on Valentine Sixlets in all of Garland, Plano, Allen and Frisco!!!

The second idea is the treat bags I made for my granddaughter's class.  She loves owls so I used the owl from the Cricut Artiste cartridge and even found matching owl suckers at the dollar store. The treat bag topper is from the Storybook cartridge and the hearts are from the Sweethearts cartridge.  I assembled the owls and hearts and stamped the hearts ahead of time.  She and I put the candy in the bags, she signed her name on the hearts and she put the hearts and owls on the toppers and put the toppers on the plastic bags of candy.  She is growing so fast and knew exactly what to do after seeing me do only one.  I also used the same stamps on her treat bags as I did on her brother's.

The third project is one I did awhile back but never posted.  The hearts were done with a Design Studio cut file and the little boxes that were between the top and bottom hearts were done just using a scoreboard and this tutorial http://scor-pal.com/basics/index_files/Page402.htm .  I did a 2" square box with 1" sides and that was the perfect size for two of the Ghiradelli squares, with the sides of the candy wrappers folded up on the side.

The fourth project is nugget tins that I did for the grankids' teachers.  I used this template to make the dividers http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2008/10/introducing-the.html .  The Ghiradelli squares and nuggets covers and the outside bands are just strips of paper.  The little hearts on the outside of the box were cut using the Sweethearts cartridge and stamped using the Paper Trey Ink stamp.  Each tin holds four Ghiradelli squares and four nuggets.
